Auckland has seen an avalanche of new hotel openings. The newest is the very smart Hotel Indigo on Albert St, a 4.5-star brand within the InterContinental Hotel Group portfolio. Its only a few steps from the Voco, also in the IHG group which opened in 2022. This is a 4-star property targeting the younger business traveller. Late last year the 5-star InterContinental opened at 1 Queen St. These join the new 5-star Horizon Hotel (Sky City). There is a new Radisson (Queen St) and Doubletree by Hilton (92 Albert St) expected to open this year.
