HOTEL UPDATES
Auckland’s JW Marriott on Albert St, formerly the Regent Auckland and Stamford Plaza, has now completed its two-year phased renovation. All 271 rooms plus suites, as well as dining, bars and Executive Lounge are all up and operating.
Diagonally opposite JW Marriott is the new Indigo Hotel by IHG (a four-star Intercontinental brand), which has just opened its signature dining venue Bistro Saine. Offering an all-day bistro experience and a French-meets-Mediterranean menu, this is not a ‘Hotel restaurant’ but a venue created by designers from Sydney’s Merivale Group and chefs from well-known restaurants such as Auckland’s The Grove and Paris Butter,
Another new hotel is under construction in Auckland. The Radisson RED Auckland anticipates opening late 2025 in a renovated office tower at 280 Queen St. With 150 rooms the RED sub-brand targets younger, urban travellers, both business and leisure, who are looking for a more stylish and social experience. Our ATPI Travellers, particularly those visiting Europe, will likely know the Radisson BLU brand, which is clearly for the for grown-ups, positioned at a more premium level.
